The article offers the author's insights on the sample interval for machine condition and oil health. He says that lubricant suppliers have established sample intervals as a value-added service. He cites the parameters that must be considered when looking to optimize machine's sample interval including the rate of progression failure, the environmental stress rating, and the health status of machine. He adds that machine lifecycle improvement is a different value for oil analysis practices.
