- Abstract
The article discusses James Buchanan's views on religion and the soul in relation to his classical liberalism beliefs. It talks about Buchanan's being a resolute atheist, the connection of the animating spirit to the intellectual scheme, and methodological individualism. Various works of the economist such as "Politics Without Romance," "Freedom in Constitutional Contract" and "The Soul of Classic Liberalism" are also looked into.
