- Abstract
The article challenges the core ideas that underlie the interpretation of the scientific revolution as presented by Edmund Husserl and Martin Heidegger. By examining the ancient Greek number theory and mixed sciences alongside modern algebra and mechanics, the paper highlights the significance of symbolization, which was overlooked by the two mentioned modern philosophers. Drawing upon the ideas of Jacob Klein, the paper presents a fresh approach to the comprehension of scientific idealizations, closely linked with Maurice Merleau-Ponty's concept of symbolic behavior.
