- Abstract
The article provides information about the selection and evaluation process for the Outstanding Science Trade Books for grades K-12. these trade books are the result of a careful evaluation process made by the National Science Teachers Association/Children's Book Council Joint Book Review Panel. The panel is composed of nine science educators from across the country, responsible for producing a list of outstanding science trade books published. For 2005, the panel has chosen 40 outstanding books from nearly 250 reviewed books. Each book is evaluated based on their adherence to four categories, including illustrations, format/layout and design, genre, and content.
