- Title
AUTOMOBILE PARTS USEFUL AS LABORATORY EQUIPMENT.
- Authors
Kilgore, William A.
- Abstract
The article discusses the uses of automobile parts as laboratory equipment in the teaching of science. According to the article, teachers can used a storage battery in placed of dry cells in experiments involving magnetism or heat because of the large current it can produce. It adds that the storage cells show a practical use of the hydrometer. A method is described that eliminates the danger of electrical shock and made possible the use of direct-current meters. The article suggests that a battery may be charged using an automobile generator driven by a one-fourth horsepower motor operating on the house circuit.
