- Abstract
The article discusses a study which evaluated the substrate specificities of four cis-selective proline hydrolases derived from rhizobia and actinomycetes by using microbial 2-oxoglutarate-dependent dioxygenases. An investigation of 15 proline-related compounds as substrates was conducted. It has observed relaxed substrate specificity in proline cis-hydroxylases. It has found that 3,4-dehydro-L-proline, L-az-etidine-2-carboxylic acid, cis-3-hydroxy-L-proline, and L-thioproline were oxygenated.
