- Abstract
A preliminary checklist of flowering plants in a lowland dipterocarp forest at Kluang Forest Reserve, Johor is herein provided. The forest is classified as lowland dipterocarp forest and swamp forest. A total of 390 species in 218 genera and 75 families was recorded. Euphorbiaceae is represented by 46 species being the most speciose family and Syzygium (Myrtaceae) is the biggest genus with 21 species. A total of 33 taxa are endemic to Peninsular Malaysia. The noteworthy findings include the presence of Memecylon hullettii which is endemic to Johor and Livistona endauensis which is rare in Peninsular Malaysia.
