- Authors
Lazer, William; Smallwood, John E.
- Abstract
The article discusses the evolution of the U.S. female population in the 1970's. There is a notable decline in the proportion of female children under the age of 15. The U.S. population of females in the age ranges of 15-24 increased in 1975 but experts speculate these numbers will decline by 1985. Analysts say women's lifestyle patterns have changed as well, presenting new opportunities for marketers. Some of the changes include an emphasis on the maintenance of self and an option to shop during the evening for working women.
