- Abstract
Introduction and Objetive-- The research project aims to identify a proposed solution to the problem of location of logistics platforms through the Atlantic railway corridor using the mathematical modelling Facility Location problem (FLP) identifying as a solution case the installation of logistics platforms or hubs with the use of the Hub Location problem method. Metodology and Results-- In the development of research is formulated a mathematical model of whole mixed programming integrated in the Hub location problem methodology, which seeks to generate the location of logistics platforms by evaluating strategic points on the railroad corridor of the Atlantic and assigning these as hubs in such a way that with the multimodal articulation of the country transport times are minimized and maximizing pro- fits generated by the freight transport, this is achieved by following the methodology of the work, and articulating the different modes of freight transport supporting the multimodality to which the country bets in the National Economic and Social Policy Council (CONPES) 3547 for the year 2020. Conclusions-- Finally, a comparison is presented where the current situation of freight transport of the country is contrasted with the proposed situation implementing the strategy of multimodalism and thus to identify which of the two strategies allows a advance in the country's freight transport.
