- Abstract
A dermatological investigation was carried out in order to determine the frequency with which contact urticaria occurs in an atopic population. As per result, there was a failure to induce immunologic contact urticaria in patients. According to a standard procedure with a standard series of aqueous glycerinated solutions of' inhalant allergens, prick testing was done among patients on the volar aspect of the forearm. The strongest antigen was applied by prick technique to skin that was stripped with adhesive tape or occluded with Saran wraps. Results failed to produce urticaria in a group of patients who had immediate hypersensitivity to a number of inhalant allergens. Results are discussed.
