- Abstract
Fetal DA constriction following maternal use of a topical NSAID has been reported only once4, while this case is the first report of fetal DA constriction following maternal inadvertent exposure to a topical NSAID. Prenatal constriction of ductus arteriosus following inadvertent maternal exposure to topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug NSAID use by pregnant women is a well-known cause of fetal ductus arteriosus (DA) constriction1 and is not advised, especially after 24 weeks of gestation as studies have suggested that the risk of fetal DA constriction increases with advancing gestation2.
