- Abstract
Climate change has become one of the world's biggest problems as a result of various factors such as rapid population growth, urbanization, industrialization, and increasing greenhouse gas emissions. This situation poses a threat to international security in terms of environmental security. Climate change also forces people to leave their natural habitats. In particular, the effects of global climate change have raised concerns about climate refugees. Environmental security problems such as rising sea levels, increasing temperatures and frequent natural disasters, depletion and pollution of water resources, desertification, etc., have the potential to endanger people's lives and cause social conflicts. This study examines the transformation of post-Cold War security in the context of environmental security through the perspective offered by green theory, and concludes that global climate change and climate migration carry conflict potential as a security problem. While all this is being done, it is claimed, from the perspective provided by green theory, that environmental degradation affects climate change and climate migration, and that this situation is a security problem based on concrete examples. The study is based on a qualitative method.
