- Authors
Forrant, Robert
- Abstract
The article focuses on the problem regarding health disparities, sustainable job creation and equitable development. To address the problem, universities are developing exciting community partnerships to advance their research, teaching and outreach goals as well as seeking to expand their classrooms by encouraging students and faculty to work in broad-based partnerships. It also shows that the term engaged institution is increasingly used to describe those colleges and universities that purposefully and patiently seek out interdisciplinay and community-based research activities.
