Solitary Bone Cyst of the Odontoid Process and Body of the Axis: a Case Report.

- Abstract
The article presents a case study of 32-year old woman who hospitalized due to neck and shoulder pain and limited neck activity. A balloon-like unilocular osteolytic lesion in the odontoid process and body of the axis was seen in plain radiographs and computed tomography (CT) scan which diagnosed solitary bone cyst. The surgery was performed with Smith?Robinson anterior approach to remove the cyst. A fibrous membrane was lining the cyst wall after surgery upon histopathologic examination.
