- Abstract
The article examines carbon and nitrogen cycling during the Paleoproterozoic period based on a preliminary analysis of the Fennoscandia Arctic Russia-Drilling Early Earth Project (FAR-DEEP) samples. The Paleoproterozoic is characterized by a prolonged interval of high carbon isotopes in the ocean/atmosphere system. It notes that carbon isotope values in the indicate the end of the Lomagundi-Jatuli event and a transformation of the Onega basin characteristics from anoxic to oxygenated.
