- Abstract
The article explains the consequences and treatment of methamphetamine abuse (MA). MA is associated with high-risk sexual behaviors, which has been shown to be a major factor in the transmission of human immunodeficiency viruses. Some of the negative physical effects of MA use are hypertension, tachycardia and headaches. Withdrawal symptoms within 2 weeks after a person's last MA use includes unique psychiatric and physical symptoms.
