- Title
Polemics, Political Racism, and Misrecognition: Naming and Analyzing Prejudice Against Arab-Americans.
- Authors
Wills, Emily Regan
- Abstract
The article discusses why Arab-Americans experience being ignored, actively rejected, or considered irrelevant in political conversations, using theories of recognition, particularly the neo-Hegelian track. Referencing the works of philosophers Charles Taylor and Axel Honneth, the author asks for the elements needed by a person for recognition in order to live in society without being subjected to misrecognition, discrimination and oppression.
