The article presents the discussion on refinements in management could further reduce mortality rates. Topics include computed tomography (CT) has been proposed as a modality that can ferret out deep-seated sites of infection to inform management; and representing the single most effective intervention to reduce mortality risk in S. aureus bacteremia since the invention of antibiotics.
