Study: How informed is too informed?
- Abstract
The article presents information on a survey related to reporting of surgeon's experience to the patients who chooses an elective surgery. The results of this survey have been presented at the 2011 Clinical Congress of the American College of Surgeons. The study revealed that the surgeons have an ethical obligation for disclosing information about their experience during informed consent and highlights the debate in surgery for disclosing of information of the surgeons volumes and outcomes.
