- Abstract
The article reports a study which carried out a statistical analysis of the admissions criteria as predictors of academic success of the National Institute of Public Health of Mexico (INSP) students. The findings suggest that although admissions variables are good predictors of grade point average (GPAs), factors delaying graduation may instead be due to difficulties in the development of a student's thesis or final projects, or other related causes such as going back to work.
