- Title
Technology: A step closer to personal genomics?
- Authors
Skipper, Magdalena
- Abstract
The article discusses the advances of sequencing technologies on the study of medical genomics. It mentions that single-molecule sequencing was done without the use of cloning or amplification but with single-molecular sequencer made by Helicos Biosciences Corp. Stephen Quake and colleagues able to generate the sequence from four data collection run using a single instrument to detect single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNPs) and copy-number variations which brings closer to personal genomics.
