- Abstract
Nanoemulsion of genistein (GLN) was fabricated by aqueous titration method. The optimized nanoemulsion constituted olive oil and Sefsol 218 (1:1) as an oil phase (4.49% v/v), Kolliphor RH40 and PEG 200 (Smix:1:1; 22.47% v/v) as a surfactant and co-surfactant respectively. Distilled water (73.04% v/v) acted as an aqueous phase in that. The optimized nanoemulsion showed globule size not as much of 100 nm, less viscosity (11.35cps), high electrical conductivity (399.056±1.091), low refractive index (1.32±0.025) and poldispersity index (0.292±0.022). The in vitro release from nanoemulsion (N2c) also showed maximum release (89.69±2.03% and 95.79±4.20% in pH 1.2 and pH 6.8, respectively) in 24 hrs. The accelerated stability study for 3 months showed no significant changes in zeta potential, polydispersity index, refractive index, viscosity, electrical conductivity and percent transmittance of nanoemulsion as there were neither flocculations nor creaming or cracking observed (p>0.05).
