- Title
ERNESTO MONACI E IL TEATRO SACRO MEDIEVALE.
- Authors
DE SANTIS, SILVIA
- Abstract
Ernesto Monaci's interest in Mediaeval religious theatre is retraced on the base of several manuscripts which marked the fundamental stages of his research: from the Vallicelliano A 26, which brought about a decisive change in the studies on the origins of Mediaeval sacred drama, to the manuscript of the Mistero di Sant'Agnese, which was subject of one of the first heliotypic editions promoted by Monaci and which marked the beginning of his fruitful partnership with the editor Augusto Martelli and, moreover, to the Laudario Urbinate which, through its tormented editorial history of which traces can be found in Monaci's rich correspondence, opens up a new visible horizon on the philologue's teaching and human depth.
