INTRODUCTION OF SOCIAL SECURITY IN LEBANON.
- Abstract
The article summarizes the provisions of the social security legislation in Lebanon, which was promulgated on September 26, 1963. The Act contains provisions for sickness and maternity benefits, occupational risk benefits, family allowances, and compensation on completion of service. The costs of all these benefits will be shouldered by the employer, except the cost of sickness and maternity benefits which will be shared between the employee, the employer and the state. The scheme will be administered by the National Social Security Fund.
