- Abstract
The article focuses on the significance of the genetic diversity on biological diversity. The Conservation on Biological Diversity (CBD) recognizes genetic diversity as an explicit goal. It adds that the CBD is a body responsible to develop and implement a National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP). It also suggests that less than half of the reviewed countries have included the goal of conserving genetic variation of wild animals and plants, while 20% recognize the need for monitoring such level of variation.
