- Title
Pharmacokinetics of doxycycline in dogs.

- Abstract
Their estimate of clinical breakpoints is much higher than the approved doxycycline breakpoint for dogs available from CLSI (CLSI, 2018). This is the reason why PK-PD indices are calculated for the free fraction, and PK-PD analysis requires that a " I f" i prefix is placed in front of T > MIC and AUC/MIC parameters as in I f i T > MIC and I f i AUC/MIC to indicate that the pharmacokinetic parameter or PK-PD index values used are unbound (free) fractions of the drug (Mouton et al., 2005). I read the recently published pharmacokinetic study on doxycycline administration to dogs, "Pharmacokinetics of doxycycline after oral administration of multiple doses in dogs" by De Lucas et al., published as an early view October 2020.
