- Abstract
The article presents the results of research which was performed in an effort to conduct a quantitative review which examined published evidence on the association of birth weight and type 2 diabetes in adults. Researchers examined several studies on the subject that had been published between 1980 and 2008 and which were contained in several medical databases. Researchers found that in most of the populations which had been studied, birth weight was inversely related to the risk of developing type 2 diabetes in adulthood.
