- Abstract
The article presents the conducted study to develop an effective char forming system to be used in the creation of a novel halogen-free flame retardant system. In the study, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) was selected as a possible char-source for acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) blends. The methods used in the study are the thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and chemical structure analysis. The materials used in the study were from various firms like Cheil Industries, Teijin Chemicals and SK Chemicals.
