- Abstract
The article discusses a study wherein synthesis of a superabsorbent hydrogel was derived from the Taguchi method. It describes the composition of the hydrogel as kappa-carrageenan (κ-C)-g-acrylic acid (AA)-co-2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid (AMPS). The experiment confirmed the water absorption property for the hydrogel at 1,195 grams of water per one gram of hydrogel powder and the absorption of heavy metal ions like copper, cobalt, and zinc.
