- Abstract
The article focuses on various aspects related to medical care of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) positive patients, and states that HIV positive patients have high incidence of cardiovascular disease (CVD). It states that CVD and myocardial infarction (MI) are the two main causes leading to the death of HIV patients, and mentions that CVD and MI are caused due to chronic inflammation and lipid disturbance in the patient's body.
