- Authors
De Takats, Geza; Pirani, Conrad L.
- Abstract
Aneurysms have constituted an important surgical problem for many centuries. The application of hemodynamic principles, the discussion of structural defects of the arterial wall, the clinical types including congenital, traumatic, inflammatory and degenerative forms have been presented. The principles of treatment have been outlined. A better understanding of the basic factors and their prevention may lead to a substantial decrease of certain types of aneurysm. The comparative case with which excised segments are being grafted has provided a new surgical approach in this field.
