- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 52-year-old man who did not use anticoagulants when he underwent elective Stapled Hemorrhoidopexy (SH) for a third-degree hemorrhoids. After the use of a 33-mm Proximate PPH-03 hemorhoidal circular stapler, he complained of pelvic fullness and progressive abdominal pain. Laparotomy revealed hemoperitoneum and the rectum was swollen due to hemorrhagic infiltration. Consequently, he underwent Hartmann's operations.
