- Abstract
The article focuses on a study related to the causes of infectious diseases. The study was conducted by researcher K.E. Jones and his colleagues. They published a systematic, quantitative analysis of recent global patterns of the outbreak of these diseases. They examined the ecology of emerging diseases. The researchers collected data on outbreaks of human diseases associated with a new species or variant of an infectious agent such as a virus or a worm. A series of statistical analyses were conducted to examine relationships with other variables like human population growth and rainfall patterns.
