- Abstract
In the context of the metaverse, 3D digital capture systems can play a crucial role in bringing avatars, characters and scenographies to life within virtual environments. Real-time interaction capture and response systems achieve an increasingly immersive and realistic experience. This is especially relevant for social interaction and the representation of natural human behaviour in the digital environment. However, the concept of a "metaverse", or this idea of a sort of parallel world of digital levels or talk of the ability of humans to be able to migrate or hybridise in digitised worlds is not new. Science fiction has long been a fertile field for the exploration of futuristic concepts and bold visions of the interaction between humanity and technology. All this has been relevant thanks to the great technological development that has progressively evolved from a scenario of very reduced access to the possibility of a great number of people at popular levels, closing the technological gap in a way never seen before, impacting the possibility of having in the hands of the common user the production devices, but also the possibility of creating narratives and stories that are more and more proper to the common citizen.
