- Abstract
The article presents the author's views on the shift to digital platform in book publishing as of December 2015, highlighting British author Charles Lamb's gold standard for a book. Lamb's 1822 essay "Detached Thoughts on Books and Reading" is discussed as well as his preference that his books are dressed in Mexican or Moroccan leather. Other topics include new media theorists' tendency to minimize the differences between print book and electronic books.
