- Abstract
This article provides information on postoperative hypertension, a significant complication that can occur following various types of surgeries and may have significant adverse sequelae. Postoperative hypertension can be due to pain, anxiety, hypercarbia, hypercapnia, hypothermia, volume overload and bladder distension. Treatment include several oral and parenteral options such as esmolol, clonidine and labetalol.
