- Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the professional world in many ways. Focusing on that context, the present research aimed to analyze the influence of emotional burnout on workers' self-esteem. Eighty-five workers of more than 50 different occupations participated in the study. Most professionals (54.10%) continued doing their work in person, despite the recommendations for social distancing. It was verified that emotional burnout affects the self-esteem of workers. Additionally, it was identified that women present more burnout during the pandemic, as a function of overworking in the house. As a whole, the results of the present research draw attention to gender inequalities and to the psychological repercussions for the worker during the pandemic.
