- Abstract
Diagnosis: Primary cutaneous aspergillosis Histopathology of a lesion biopsied on the right buttock showed necrosis of the epidermis and underlying hair follicles with numerous filamentous fungal hyphae on the surface of the necrotic tissue with regular hyphal size, acute angle branching, and occasional septations. ESCMID-ECMM guideline: diagnosis and management of invasive aspergillosis in neonates and children. A male neonate, born at corrected gestational age of 25 weeks and 4 days by spontaneous vaginal delivery to a 25-year-old gravida 2 para 1 woman with preterm labor, was admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit with respiratory distress syndrome requiring mechanical ventilation.
