- Abstract
The article discusses the reduced bone mineral density (BMD) in the patients with haemophilia. It informs that decrease in the BMD is due to decreased physical activity, recurrent haemarthrosis resulting in haemophilic arthropathy, and infection with and therapy of human immunodeficiency virus and hepatitis C. It also presents information on the FVIII deficiency as the main reason for the decrease in BMD.
