- Abstract
Urbanization is only a carrier of human activities, and it does not directly affect carbon emissions. Based on the essential relationship of carbon emissions and urbanization, and summarizing the shortcomings of the present research methods, this paper first classifies the degree of urbanization in China by using the multi-index cluster analysis method based on panel data, and then analyzes the influence factors of carbon emissions by the STIRPAT model for different urbanization levels. The results show that the elasticity of factors affecting carbon emissions is quite different under different urbanization levels. The conclusion is that the policy of reducing emissions should be different for different levels of urbanization. Differentiated emission reduction policies are necessary for a vast China.
