- Abstract
The article provides information on multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA). In the field of psychiatry and psychology, MANOVA is used in the analysis of repeated-measures data and in the control of type I error rate in subsequent non-multivariate analysis. The differences between univariate ANOVA and MANOVA are discussed. Discriminant functions, which are said to be important to the statistical method called discriminant function analysis (DFA), are derived from MANOVA.
