- Title
USER AND NON-USER DIFFERENCES IN SYMBOL MEANING OF RORSCHACH CONTENT.
- Authors
Richardson, Roger A.; Morrow, Gary R.
- Abstract
This article discusses various issues related to the user and non-user differences in symbol meaning of Rorschach content, and presents a study in this regard. The data of the study support the basic premise that a symbol has different meaning for people who use it as a symbol as opposed to those who do not. The data further suggests that Rorschach examiner who is a non-user of his/her client's Rorschach percepts should be cautious when he/she ascribes symbolic meaning to the content. The findings support the practice of establishing a device to elicit meaning on the Rorschach that a, symbol has for that particular individual.
