- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the involvement of cholesterol-independent mechanisms in the development of vascular diseases associated with Porphyromonas gingivalis. The study uses DNA microarray to examine gene alterations in the injured murine blood vessels and analyzes the molecules involved in cholesterol-independent aortic hyperplasia caused by Porphyromonas gingivalis. The results show the involvement of cholesterol-independent mechanisms developing cardiovascular disease.
