- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 25-year-old female who has developed red, itchy, and scaly rush due to application of self-tanning products. Patch testing shows that the self-tanning product used by the patient contains dihydroxyacetone, a triose carbohydrate from the fermentation of glycerine. It also mentions that dihydroxyacetone is a possible substance that can cause allergy.
