- Abstract
Dr. Adaora Alise Adimora, a prominent figure in the global HIV community, passed away on January 1, 2024. She was a respected scholar, clinician, mentor, and advocate who focused on elevating attention to women in HIV research and addressing racial and gender inequalities in HIV healthcare. Dr. Adimora's work contributed to understanding the epidemiology of HIV and sexually transmitted infections, particularly among Black women in the United States and globally. She was also a leader in HIV and women's health advocacy, serving on various committees and initiatives. Dr. Adimora's dedication to health equity, social justice, and gender equality left a lasting impact on the field.
