- Abstract
Objective: To describe the experience of undergraduate students using the Problem Based Learning method through the Virtual Learning Environment. Methods: Qualitative research developed with students in the discipline of perioperative care, from the Nursing course at the Federal University of Santa Catarina. Data collection took place in the second half of 2017. Results: 13 nursing students participated. Four categories were formed: Group organization; sequential understanding of the Problem Based Learning resolution; Duties of the coordinator and rapporteur; Discussing the acquired learning. Conclusion: The findings show that this educational tool, developed in a virtual learning environment, was able to trigger reasoning, foster autonomy and co-responsibility. The problematization is effective in the teaching-learning process, as it allowed the development of autonomy for self-learning and self-direction contributing to the transformation into an active agent in the care process.
