The article focuses on a stent based alignment system which overcomes the deficiencies of the previous system. The electronically guided, force-sensitive sensor-based alignment system. is described and evaluated for its ability to reproducibly align a patient over a period of 6 months by measuring the deflection of a laser beam off a reference mirror which is attached to a bracket bonded to a patient's tooth.
