- Abstract
The article reports on research which was conducted to investigate movement velocity in older adults and to determine whether it was a risk factor for falls. Researchers evaluated 112 community dwelling older adults. They found that movement velocity was a sensitive risk factor for falls in high functioning older adults and may be a useful marker when developing strategies for preventing falls in older adults.
