- Abstract
The article focuses on the use of U-shaped cartilage interposition as a method for reconstruction of the incus' long process. It notes that the cartilage's lateral surface connects to the tympanic membrane, bridging the gap between stapes head and incus. It states that the U-shaped cartilage re-establishes the sound transmission through the ossicular chain to produce a direct link between stapes and tympanic membrane.
