- Abstract
The article presents a study which analyzes the differences of laparoscopically assisted and open ileal pouch-anal anastomosis (IPAA). It notes that researchers used Cleveland Global Quality of Life Scale at one and five years to determine the quality of life of the patients. Results show that the laparoscopically assisted IPAA and open IPAA have similar outcomes but the former group had shorter median time to stoma action and has longer median operating times.
